Well, Oxford lost at Bury tonight and Bury were also in the relegation zone.
Both teams will be out to prove that it was just a horrible hiccup.
This is beginning to look like a must win for McCann.

Given he only got a one-game suspension, why wouldn't he be?

4-4-2 for this one.

Bond; Taff Taylor Hughes Shepard; Maddison Doughty Grant AndersonorLDSL; Miller Marriott

Pretty much picks itself. We got away with Gwion and LDSL as wing-backs early season but neither Hughes nor Shephard is made for the job.

Given that we had two non-wingbacks playing in a 3-5-2 v Oldham and were missing Grant, Gwion and Junior, it's no surprise we underperformed.

:stupid:
It would be good if he plays 90 minutes without getting sent off.

It's got to be 4-4-2.

We simply can't carry on playing a system that doesn't suit us.

I'd give LDSL a crack on the right of midfield just to see how he performs there....because he's no wing back in a million years.

Because when he came back from his previous sabbatical he started the game sat on his arris.

As he's the only midfielder we have that can actually tackle....

We need Grant back.

Almost the first name on the teamsheet IMO.

Yep.

I'm not convinced McCann knows his best team...Formation or when to use it. That was evident last night.

But Grant should be starting every game when available.

Knowing a ‘best team’ is forever changing. There are so many factors in working out what is the best:- formation, injuries, form of players, suspensions, how the opposition set up etc. etc.
I’m sure that Grant Mc Cann has a much better idea about all this than any of us on any forum. It is also much easier to assess how a game has panned out after the actual game.
Anthony Grant will be key to our season.

...When everyone is available Ashman.

He surely must know that he can't keep getting away with 3-5-2 when he doesn't have a wing back at the club.

I didn't see the Oldham result coming therefore to predict the result v Oxford is nothing but starry eyed optimism.
