Tannoyed

Post by DoubleRay » 22 Sep 2017, 13:37

Is it too much to ask Posh to read out the half time scores this Saturday? They don't seem to be doing it this season, perhaps they think we all have
i-phones or something.

Which leads me on to the antiquated speakers they have at the Abax. Just rip them out and put some new ones in. Very often in the family stand they stop working all together and when they do it's worse than the 1969 Apollo space mission. I'm still trying to work out the music the Posh players come out to.
I don't know but it sounds like a Bon Jovi record being played subliminally backwards.

That means going down jostling with people who are keen to take a mortgage out on a cuppa. I shouldn't have to get out my seat.😕

Old speakers in LR end were fine with the previous guy, but don't think U2's roadies and all the latest equipment would help with the current fella.

I agree that it is very poor. The chap who does the commentary now is far too quick in his speech, but at least he has something to say when you do occasionally catch what he is saying, which is more than the previous incumbent. Also DMac has said many times that he is not prepared to spend money on a new PA system.

f!&k me mate you've got good hearing.
I've been going into LRE since 1973 and the tannoy has never been any good unless the most useless emergency announcer in the world comes in to splutter his crap.
I gather that tannoy is on a different system than the one we have to put up with.
Begs the question why that can't be the norm but I suppose the emergency one has to kept 'free'.

David is doing a good job imo although I do think too much is wanted of him, he'll not get time to read out the h/t scores if they are that important (they are not) whilst he has to do the skip challenge and the penalty shoot out.
In between the two one would have thought Mr Adlam or someone could help him out with updates although personally I get fed up with people around me discussing other matches during the only important one to me

Couldn't agree with you more, although I was guilty of this at Walsall having had a tenner on Hartpury winning at Rotherham in the Rugby Championship, 2 o'clock start so it finished during half time at Bescot

I don't think anyone would be able to hear anyway. All the investment in the ground with the new stand and it still sounds like the PA system was last updated in 1972
