Oldham v Posh

Post by tonyp » 19 Sep 2017, 08:51

Live it up in luxury next Tuesday at Oldham.
Escape the cold and enjoy traditional pie & peas in the Broadway Suite for next week’s game against Peterborough United at SportsDirect.com Park.
For just £30, supporters can enjoy the warmth and comfort of the Broadway Suite bar in the North Stand and enjoy traditional pie and peas before taking up their executive, padded seats on the halfway line for the game.
Of course you might have to pretend to be an Oldham fan.

The Rose Of Lancaster looks pretty comfortable to me. They might even have a game on the telly. Save you the drive to the ground.

Meanwhile according to Footymad Oldham
The rumour mill rolls on and the latest twist is that potential new investor Abdallah Lemsagam will want to dispense with John Sheridan and bring in a new manager. His agent is said to be in talks with chairman Simon Corney and the result is that Pablo Correa will be that new man. He is no longer in charge of managing the team at his current club AS Nancy and he is currently in negotiations regarding the final 18 months of his current contract. He is also said to be making regular trips to Boundary Park to discuss his new job.
New managers often get good results in their first few games.

This has been proven to be incorrect statistically. Kevin Pullein looked into the theory in detail and it's bollox.

5-2 Oldham, 9-4 Draw, Evens Poshies.

Our second consecutive away trip to a team who've just been demoluhed away at Rotherham.

This mob are worse than Walsall too.

Bogey ground my ar$e, we tore them a new one when Grant took over before and should be winning this.

Suspect we might be back to 3-5-2 here, maybe with LDSL and Gwion back at wing-backs. Or a 4-4-2 is Gwion isn't fit and/or Taylor is ready for a break.

Forrester and Doughty obv both start with Granty suspended. The coaches really need to have a word with Anthony Grant...

Miller is nowhere near dislodging either of the current two up front, knock or no knock. Not sure why so many fans have a semi over him, he's way behind Junior and Marriott from what I've seen.

What we don't want is the lame performance we put up at their place last season.

We're second...They are bottom and we need to be at them from the start.

Anything less than 3 points will be a failure.

We won't win every game this season. But this should be a walkover.
Anthony Grant will be missing (again) having picked up his obligatory yellow yesterday. Surprise surprise.
Barring injury we'll probably field the same team.

That was our lowest point of a low last season. Zero effort.

Motivation shouldn't be a problem this time.

Anybody remember the good old days when we used to pick 8 games that would end in a draw? (Littlewoods or Vernons?)
It was quite amazing how often a bottom team would manage a draw against a top table club, especially at home.
Just saying, like.
I'm still going for Oldham 2-4 Posh.

ClubCall
Oldham boss Sheridan expects position to come under threat after Rotherham loss.
"I am not someone who has a go at my players, I am going to blame myself. I am going to blame myself for picking the wrong players, picking the wrong team, being too loyal.

"Being too loyal to people and not getting it back. I'll accept it on the chin, it's my fault. It's comical the scoreline, we were well in the match at half-time.

"We threw the towel in at the end. I've got to my look at myself and see what's what. Whether that's me or other people, I accept it. You have got to win games."
Looks as though it will be a new team on Tuesday! (If not a new manager)
