yes we are averaging 2 points per game for the season, however the direction of travel is south we have only achieved 1.4 points per game over the last 5. Need to pick up the pace over the next few games

however everything to be hopeful for, if key players keep fit, not get injured or suspended

A pretty good article from Alan Swann here.
Lots of interesting things but one I especially noticed-
Anthony Grant challenged Marriott and Maddison for the right to be called the best Posh player of the first six games, but he’s become a walking caution. He enjoys the dirty part of the job, but needs to be available more as Chris Forrester and Michael Doughty can look a little lightweight together.

Wobbs an irrelevance.

I think we all knew deep down we'd be reverting to type at some point.

We might even see a reaction v Wobblers and give them a good hiding.

One big push to gloss over the last two games before a week and a half break.

We can win by six but it won't prove owt.

Let's be honest, we were fortunate to beat Plymouth and Rotherham early season.

The best performances came against Bristol Rovers and Northampton, and we caught both at a good time.

Reality check needed.

Some would say Wobbs are NEVER an irrelevance. I'd like to see some fight on Tuesday and some entertainment wouldn't go amiss

yes we lost yesterday to a better team, and it's not going to be easy, however after the Bradford game, we are still in a play off position and have 13 points from 6 games, IMO 2 points a game will hopefully give us auto promotion, and defo a play off position, yes defending is an issue, but with my positive head on a great start to the season.
After 11 games, Shrewsbury, Wigan and Bradford City are averaging 2 points per game.

Oldham, Doncaster, Bury, Wimbledon, Northampton, Gillingham and Plymouth are averaging less than 1 point per game.

We could already have a reasonable idea of which teams will be candidates for automatic promotion and which will be fighting in and around the relegation zone

averaging 1.4 points over the last 5 games, which is ok, 1.8 over the season, which is good, but not the form for auto promotion.

I guess we would have taken this before the start of the season, play off position a distinct possibility on this form, but as Grant says, nothing is won in September October

All those stats are irrelevant though Stuie....

I don't care where we are in the league or how many points we're average atm....

On the evidence of the last 2 games we're going nowhere.

I agree league position is irrelevant at this stage, however I believe points average for season to date, and for the last 5 games is useful information. Agreed based on the last 2 games, both points wise, and footballing activity on the field, we are going nowhere, however on season to date and past 5 games, we still have every opportunity to make the play offs, this was not true for the last couple of seasons imo

It keeps me positive on a Sunday morning, when I am actually negative about the last 2 games

It's an irrelevance to our season.

Not if we click and get our form back though.
The next match is always the next opportunity and with it being 'them' a victory will be even sweeter

Of course, but don't fall into the trap of thinking this game is a big deal, otherwise the Checkatwat Trophy rebrand boys will think they've won a minor battle.

"What if we give the fans local derbies, geberate a bit of interest in the group games?"

Nope, it's still garbage and the public, who won't be mugged off in these matters, will vote with their feet as always.

Bit of a plastic on this one, would not buy a ticket to any game other than the final, but would love another great final at Wembley, however if I lived in a PE postcode, would go to games against Cobblers and Cambridge

It's a tenner maximum or If your an oldie £8 for the Checkatrade. Hardly what I call being mugged off and certainly not worth constantly moaning about.
If you don't want to go, don't go but surely you want Posh to get to Wembley? I take it you didn't go when we beat Chesterfield.
