Posh v Shrewsbury

Postby tonyp » 11 Feb 2017, 22:17

Posh 4/5
Draw 13/5
Shrewsbury 100/30

A must win if there ever was such a thing.

This game worries me....

They have picked up recently and had the result of the day today with a 1-0 win at Scunthorpe.

Our home record is shocking...5 wins in 15 and only one in 3 months...against lowly Chesterfield.

It's a Tuesday night as well.

Would come as no surprise if they turned us over

We certainly had better.
Anybody with half a brain or more knows that if we are to have any hope of keeping in touch with the playoffs we need to start winning at home. And keep it up, home and away.

Unfortunately I tend to agree with Super. It wouldn't be surprising if Shrewsbury cause an upset.

I don't understand that, if it doesn't surprise you, surely it won't be an upset.

It will disappoint me if Shrewsbury cause an upset (and win). But it wouldn't be surprising.
I realise that you're expecting Shrewsbury to win. But if Posh win you'll be surprised and we'll both be happy!

Tony is right and wrong here ..

A must win game it isn't.

Our home form needs to improve...It's unacceptable and is simular to that of a bottom four team

Correct 19 th in the table on home form, 3rd on away form.

Exactly....

It's also important re bums on seats/season ticket sales for next season.

No problems with yesterday...but the performances against Gillingham Coventry...and the meltdown against the franchise won't exactly entice people back.

Having said that...the crowd don't help either. Good atmosphere yesterday but the abuse Nichols took was shocking.

It's simular (?) all right.
Anybody with half a brain or more (ie most of us on this message board) knows that we have to start winning at home. A good time to start will be Tuesday night.
In my opinion, we must win this game and the game at Walsall if we want to keep in touch with the playoffs.
We can't keep relying on the teams around us to drop points as well.

Just calm down Tony, stop worrying about the play offs and insulting people's intelligence.

We won't win the play offs....We won't make the play offs.

I'm calm. I am not going to stop "worrying about the playoffs". I still hope we'll make them.
I haven't insulted anybody's intelligence. Unless you count you not being able to spell "similar".
I thought we'd agreed that everybody was entitled to his opinion.
I presume that you don't have a crystal ball and that "We won't win the play offs....We won't make the play offs" is your opinion.
In which case that explains why you don't think we must win. We may as well lose, it won't make any difference?

The only thing stopping me backing against us here is A. Grant and his early impact.

Without him, this would be the sort of game the remainder of the squad would happily give up a bit in, keep themselves in mid-table obscurity and out of the limelight.
