Port Vale boss says Grant sale was obvious decision for club. Click here for full story.
Caretaker manager Michael Brown said: "Anthony didn't want to be here. We could have kept him past the deadline, and what sort of performances we would have got from a player very unhappy, sat on nine bookings…I think it was an extremely easy decision for the football club to make.
He had made it quite clear that he didn't want to be here anymore and he wanted to be at Peterborough. So, what can we do in that scenario when he has three months left?"
The deal was worth around £100,000 for the Valiants, an offer they decided was too good to turn down because the midfielder was out of contract in the summer and had put in a transfer request at the start of the season.

Over Grant's professional playing career, he receives a yellow card, on average, once every 4 games. I don't think his playing style will change now he's with us.

But that's not necessarily a negative, having a battler, with passion whose perhaps willing to pick up yellow cards for the good of the team.

Looking forward to seeing our new midfielder in action.

having only seen Grant for about ten minutes at Crewe a couple of seasons ago (having imbibed too much Belgian beer I might add) I can't really pass judgement, but do people actually know if he has got these bookings for being competitive, or because he can't keep his mouth shut when he haas been penalised.

A bit of both bristol. ..

I've seen him a few times most notably for Port Vale at London Road last season..Where he owned the game.

I thought McCann missed a trick not signing him in the summer. ..but then again he's missed a whole handful this season.

McCann can't sign everybody we'd like him to sign.
I thought (and posted somewhere) that we should sign Anthony Grant. I can't find the post. Maybe I'd imbibed too much Belgian beer. :)

tone, you probably said something like

"Whether we sign Anthony Grant will be up to Grant McCann and DMac'.

Go ahead and claim it though. Even though you've never seen him play.

If you look in the Anthony Grant thread in general football, you will see Tony said

'Don't be surprised if we sign him.'

Lol....You didn't really fall for that Stuie, did you

He's not stupid our Tony. ..And neither am I!

He'd never heard of Anthony Grant until the day before we signed him...

Nice try though tone.

I have to agree with superposh80!
But, I think I might be getting alzheimers.
I don't remember claiming or predicting or even "probably saying" any of the things people are guessing that I claimed or predicted or probably said.
At least I don't have alzheimers.
