Boyd was hardly a secret, either, given he was the most expensive non-leaguer at the time. And it's long odds-on we only wound up with Gayle thanks to John Still.

Since then he's tried to become Matthew Benham on a budget and it's gone horribly wrong. His valuations of the current crop are way wide of the mark.

The squad still massively lacks balance and they either can't or won't play for GM.

If he's serious about promotion then he's going to need deep pockets before Tuesday. As many of us suspect he no longer has the cash to back it up. Most likely it's more blarney. I'm used to it to be honest and also recognise without his cash we're an average L1 side. Nothing wrong with that given our crowds and our history. But I do get tired of Darraghs pipe dreams and bluster.

PS Morgan, Martin, Bennett, Tomlin, Boyd, CMS

Some good shouts in there. Has anyone seen any of them play before?

Reported interest in Port Vale midfielder Anthony Grant.

I flagged him up pre season as the type of player we should be going for....Ball winner, box to box.

He's 29 but his experience could be invaluable.

A couple I missed Ball, Ajose, and obviously Gayle and Assombalonga.

Posh interested in Anthony Grant from Port Vale. He is 29 which will is against the norm for Posh but may be a good influence with younger players.
Everyone has been saying Posh need an experienced player so they are listening.

Wouldn't doubt for a minute that DMac and GM pop in here occasionally. Why wouldn't they? It's the club's official forum.

Luciano Becchio or Freddy Eastwood are advaluble might not fit our age range but both could do a job at this level.

If only... Perhaps if dmac checked out the Posh no 1 forum back in August. We'd have sorted both our midfield and up front already! You could be like Daz super scout on the dark side! :D

Then we're done for the season. And DMac is presumably done at the end of the season.

That's the way I read it for this month and the season!
Unless .....
The Chairman does not want to disclose anything in the pipeline until it is concluded
Which may only involve players coming in - if players are sold
