It's a handsome statue.

That statue is actually magnificent although I can see what you mean about scaring off the pigeons.

There are a few stories about the construction I could bore you with but won't, it was built by Sean who was our sculptor.

I went up to the Stadium of Light for our League Cup match a few years ago and it looks fantastic in the 'flesh' and lit up.

It of course replicates Bob running on to the pitch after the 73 FA Cup Final towards his heroic veteran keeper Jim Montgomery who had pulled off two amazing saves to effectively win them the cup against dirty Leeds and in that Sean got the emotion spot on.
