In the days when I was a teenager supporting Posh - Cobblers were the main rivals and Lincoln were a clear second.
Nobody knew much about non-league Cambridge Utd - anyway they came from a different county.
Is still correct (for us oldies anyways)

Re: FA Cup Fourth round

Having grown up in Stamford, as many Posh Fans did, Posh vs Leicester, if not exactly a local derby to Posh fans from other areas, has always had a special resonance. Many from Stamford unfortunately chose to support Leicester (probably a lot more now) and we would often cross paths on away trips o...

Re: LDSL

Good job Sir Alex didn't agree with that premise  Saying that (and I haven't bothered to check the actual appearances for messrs giggs, beckham etc) I don't disagree that Leo has been overplayed and truth be told has rarely deserved his extended matches on form alone. It's a shame because in ...

Re: Former Posh Sergio Torres needs your help!

I hope you don't mind but I have forwarded this to another POSH supporters website www.londonroad.net

Doubt it'll prove any more successful though

Re: LDSL

In my opening post on this thread, I commented: 'Towards the end of last season, the manager (‘I don’t make the same mistake twice’) admitted to overusing LDSL, but then continued to select him to the bitter end. In all competitions, he made forty-six appearances, playing in the League opener (when...

Re: Wigan v Posh

Can't complain about that.... Point gained. :stupid: Pretty even game tbf. Good point that. :stupid: I'd say that most Posh fans would be happy with one point at Wigan. As always it will be interesting to hear from more of those who attended the game. We defended superbly with lots of guts and no l...

Re: Nigel Sims

I spoke to Peter Lane about him earlier today.
He said it was fitting he passed away as we were playing Villa as that is where he made his name playing over 250 games for them.

RIP big man

Re: Bazza

I don't get this admiration of someone bullying incoherently and trying to blame others for his incompetence. I suppose it comes from the same types who believe his claims about remortgaging his massive, incredibly expensive property. Hey Ho. The days of my being bothered by his being at my club are...

Take your point, but for me it's always what's best for the club over what's best for me.

Re: Fourth round?

Good stuff. Good for the club. Don't see why anyone would object tbh. Of course it is great for the club and on that basis I am pleased. However for whatever reason the atmosphere at lunchtime games is awful in general. If Fleetwood take advantage of leicester's pretty dismissive attitude towards t...

Re: posh v plymouth in the 70s

The plymouth bloke somewhat exaggerates. They did not iirc invade the pitch pre match, in those days a massive group of 'lads' would ceremonially march from Cathedral Square to London Rd at around 2.45. Stupidly/bravely we tried it that day, it is safe to say that wasn't the wisest decision. A...
