Re: Transfer rumours OUT

I posted at the start of the season that I felt Baldwin was no better than Santos, Burgess or Brisley, and I saw nothing during the course of the season to change my mind. The concern is that he shows no signs of improvement or development, and continues to make the same mistakes: poor decision-maki...

Racism in football

Little... McCann... Maddison. Who will be next on your hate list... IF he (MM) goes he goes. Gwion may come to the fore a bit more (injuries permitting) and amazingly guess what even if between a few players his assists will be replicated if we are playing well. 'IF....may....if...if....' Circumspe...

Re: Blackburn v Posh

The three games we've played since Maddison dropped out of the line up have brought three defeats and only two goals scored -- one of them an own goal.

Re: Anyone actually going

I was a little disappointed to hear the new owners touching the forelock to the supposedly excellent youth set up and the 'wonderful story' that is LDSL's. I don't feel that either has materially advanced the team's cause in recent years. As long as management lauds to the skies talent such as Ander...

Re: Rotherham v Posh

As long as a midfield quintet of Grant, Doughty, Forrester, LDSL and Anderson is being outscored by Hughes, we have to question its value to the team. At Rotherham, it was Taylor who picked out Morais to set up the equaliser. To the best of my recollection, in the last five games, the only meaningfu...

Re: Poshies v Bristol Rovers

Last week's captain, Baldwin, was unavailable due to his red card at Oxford. This week's captain, Grant, did his utmost to follow suit; in my view, he was lucky to avoid a red: the physical contact between him and the referee would have been enough to send Maddison thudding to the turf. I'd like to ...

Re: Bury v Posh

Yeah i remember the negativity after the first 5 matches  There's never going to be any obv, but I was never that positive through the opening batch of games. We were extremely lucky to beat Plymouth and Rotherham at our place, and limitations were well exposed in the 0-0 away at Donny. at bo...

Re: Bury v Posh

I will appraise my comment, I made in other threads '' This was the worst performance I have seen Posh play and WIN, great we won, onwards and probably upwards I have more faith in Steve Evan's than I ever had in Grant McCann Yeah i remember the negativity after the first 5 matches  There's n...

Re: Bury v Posh

Four embarrassing and shocking performances I've witnessed this season under Grant...and all defeats. Says it all. :D  Arguably, one could add the away games at MK Dons and Oldham, and the home games against Bradford City and Tranmere, to the list of occasions on which the team seemed either...

Re: This season

Wigan's injury-time winner at Bradford was a welcome development, as it eased them above Shrewsbury into an automatic promotion place. I think most play-off candidates might feel more comfortable facing the Salopians rather than the Latics.

Re: This season

Given our tendency to play well against the top teams and underachieve against strugglers, it's hard to predict which fixtures might be more challenging than others. If it comes down to goal difference at the end, we are currently well placed: ours is the best GD outside the top four, with only fift...

Re: Bury v Posh

I think that this would be a good game for LDSL to sit out. The break would give him time to take confidence from a relatively promising performance against Charlton. Doughty and Anderson showed enough in that game to challenge for that starting position. In his brief appearance, I thought Anderson ...

Re: Erhun Oztumer

Oztumer's fourteen League One goals are thirteen more than the three players I mentioned have amassed in League One this season. Add Grant to that trio and the numbers don't change. Oztumer's total is virtually a quarter of PUFC's League One total (fifty-three) this season. I hope none of our midfie...

Re: Erhun Oztumer

He's a useful yardstick to have when some people enthuse about the talent we have in our squad. How do Forrester, Doughty and LDSL compare with Oztumer?

Re: Posh v Walsall

During the Wimbledon game, it wasn't apparent to me if we had a captain on the pitch: Baldwin was preoccupied with one of his characteristic performances: yellow card for an ill-advised, poorly executed tackle, then undone by a simple ball played over his head for the Wimbledon goal. On Tuesday nigh...
