League 1 Finishing positions 2018/19

Now that the World Cup is effectively over for us now is the time to start thinking about the domestic season. The Rules for this season are similar to last season's :- 1. One point penalty for the difference between the predicted and actual finishing position for each team. 2. Five bonus points for...

Re: World Cup 2018

Croatia even shaded the first half according to the stats shown on ITV although the commentator was saying that England were on top. In the end it was men against boys. England never turned up in the second half and it was no surprise when the Croats went and equalised and eventually scored the winn...

Re: World Cup 2018

Four teams representing European countries in the semis. Is this the first time teams from other continents haven't been so far?

Re: World Cup 2018

Does the lack of response on this thread indicate a lack of interest in this event or is everyone away on holiday? Last night's performance by the England team was dire, rescued only by an injury time goal by the skipper. Maybe it was the heat and the flies that upset their pampered constitution.

Re: Own up

I must confess, being a septuagenarian, that I've never been to a pop concert. The CDs in my car are at present Queen, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac and Beachboys.

Re: Happy Old Trafford Day

I remember having mixed feelings on that day. As a teenager I used to watch the Terriers at Leeds Road (a youthful Dennis Law had just started) , but now happily follow the Posh.

Re: FA Cup final

I give you 1953 Blackpool v Bolton, the Ardilles, Ricky Villa Spurs one wasn't bad either True dat but can't remember the 1953 final, unlike you! :D What was confusing about that one was that both teams played in grey and white And you had to go to the cinema to see the newsreel in colour.

Re: FA Cup final

It was a difficult watch, particularly in the first half, as one penalty area was bathed in bright sunshine and the rest of the pitch was in shadow. A nightmare for the TV cameras. Glad that the team in Blue won. The match could be summed up by the choice of Man of the Match , Rudiger a tough German...

Ray Wilson : RIP

A true Terrier of a fullback he joins other members of the '66 team as a victim of Alzheimers - heading those heavy leather balls has taken its toll.
RIP Ramon.
