Re: January japery

Aston VIlla manager Steve Bruce has distanced himself from a move for striker Lewis Grabban in January by saying he has no money to spend. “I have said for three months I am looking at loans. “How can I be linked with Lewis Grabban? I haven’t got the money. “Put a line through it.” Same for JM then ...

Re: January japery

http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/12/14/report-aston-villa-and-sunderland-go-head-to-head-for-prolific-j/ oh dear I wouldn't worry as HITC is a bit like that old transfer rumours site that seems to have disappeared. The "journos" make Swanny look like a good one May well be garbage but I love this tim...

Re: January japery

Gut feeling is he'll stay unless we're offered silly money, as in £5m+ plus the usual sell-on chunk.

100% Championship class and may well turn out PL class imo.

Would be a decent bit of business at five millballs given we paid less than 10% of that figure.

Re: January japery

Good news.

Wonder what Darragh's price for Marriott would be?

Might as well hang on to him and get more in the summer though. He's going higher than Gayle and Britt imo. Just passing through here en route to much bigger and better things. To be enjoyed while it lasts.

Re: Fleetwood v Posh

We have an anthem now. Seven Nation Army. It's the only track played at HT these days and we often go back to the start after the skip challenge or what not.

It's got a bit like Ghost Town on Father Ted.

Re: Woking replay

100%, it's only ever about pitting your opinion against the general price. For the past few years Liverpool have been underpriced for a lot of PL games. I tend not to play PL games, as my knowledge lies further down the pyramid, but I know a few who've done well taking them on. Not so much this seas...

Re: Woking replay

I did expect us to win but the prices were incorrect imo. 2-5 Posh was too short and 8-1 Woking was too big. I've backed worse 8-1 shots in my time, that's for sure. I made them about a 5-1 shot. About one in six 5-1 shots win. This one didn't. Crowing over someone else placing a losing bet is prett...

Re: Woking replay

We did enough and had a lot of chances but 5-2 only tells half the story. It was 2-2 after 70-odd minutes; turn in that first-half performance against any L1 team and it's all over after half an hour. GM was getting a bit chippy afterwards about LDSL, how he doesn't want to talk about fans getting o...

Re: Grant McCann - Manager

Plenty of other chairman have proven they're 'up to the job'.

Matthew Benham and Tony Bloom for two. Both professional gamblers. Shows how shrewd pro punters are...

Re: Grant McCann - Manager

tonyp, you're not in charge here, so maybe you could drop this new-found headmaster appraoch you've decided to adopt?

Re: anyone questioning the chairman, I don't get it at all. He's done nothing but good since he took over. End of. I disagree with his choice of managers but that's just opinion.

Re: January japery

I still feel the chairman is more interested in making a quick buck buying and selling players than he is gaining promotion. The wheels have long fallen off his sell on wagon and he doesn't have a plan B. We are a mid table ,division 1 team, with mid table ambitions and that's where we will stay unl...
